I am making sure I sell anything that reports earnings before they report. . . MO is that they rise ahead of earnings, then sell off on the earnings. . .whether or not they beat the street or disappoint. . I don't think anyone even reads the things. . .they just sell-off, when they see the news out. And some stocks get haircuts, whether or not they beat the street. And those that rise go up one point. . .while those that fall, drop 10 points. . . hardly worth playing earnings. . . .

Remember this is exactly what happened in July.

Cyclicals up 2.3 percent?

Dow up 4 1/2 percent for the week?

Internets rallying like wild?

Yes. I believe the November run started at the U-turn, which occurred the end of last week . . and as I said, I believe we are on the first upward leg of the beginning of the fall rally.

Gee. . . I guess I could be wrong. . .however in the last week of March, I said we would top out mid-April and enter a bear market through the summer . . . a few months later I predicted wild volatility throughout the end of the year, but that we would see gains in November through the first week of December. . . .and if you look at the historicals, the first predictions were exactly correct.

Could we now be seeing the second half of them come true? Well, that is the gamble, now isn't it. I put my money down. . . as I don't believe there is nearly enough "bad" news to hold the markets down . . . especially as the seasonal players begin showing up. . .and because I trade my plans with conviction. I just cannot ignore that increasing market volume each time we head upward.

I said Dow +210 and Naz +70 EOD. . . about 20 minutes before the bell the Dow was over +210 and Naz was about +35. . . guess I didn't figure in the Friday afternoon profit taking.

The thought for the week. . .

Market gains are what happens when everyone is standing around trying to figure out the market direction.
