I love 'em! Ever since I've lived in the country, exurb, or whatever, I keep trying to catch some. Your observation is what makes it so hard. You really don't see them until it's too late. Good thing I don't seem to have copperheads...

Was standing barefoot on a shaggy front lawn few years ago.
Hand-watering some pumpkins and the long wet grass was tickling my feet -- least I thought it was the long wet grass -- if you were outside, you may have heard me!
