I dare speculate that going forward, MSFT will be very aggressive in beating earnings. For the first time ever, they came out and issued the most upbeat forecast possible. I would guess that management has finally realized how the clouds hovering over the stock have virtually shackled it. Look at SUNW, CSCO and the like. This year, MSFT has done nothing much relatively. Gates & co are too competitive to stand by and watch this. They will not let their empire be affected. And my guess is, they will settle with DOJ. Boy, would I love to see when that happens - it would be as if someone let this stock out of prison. 125, here we come.

jmac: Don't put too much faith in CNBC. Maria Butteromo while looking at the board this morning said IBM was opening up at 104 - a slight error of 10 points to the north- which she finally got straight after a few more looks. Some talking head today said the NAZ was rallying as it fell from 39 to 11. These people don't have a clue. Not a clue. In fact CNBC repeated the CSCO rumor albeit mentioning that it was a rumor. Is that responsible?

These guys are not as reliable as these threads by a long shot. CNBC would do better to read these threads at SI and Yahoo .JFD
