You are like a sanitation inspector, whose object, interest and living is TOILETS. You lost the ability to look beyond potholes, toilets and dung heaps.

Correction. I don't have any specific interest in the above. It is only when I post to this thread that I want to rub it in to you folks that an overwhelming majority of people living in your India, the "superpower of tomorrow", a country that supposedly has the "world's third largest pool of scientific and engineering talent", don't have access to something as basic as toilets!

Or is that too hard for you to understand?? Has it ever, ever, EVER occurred to you that if only India had anything even remotely decent in this regard, I wouldn't have been able to say a word about it?? Huh?? HUH????

That is the difference in perception. You saw Donkey Dung. I saw the caldera, the cliff, the white washed houses and churches.

Hope you didn't step on the dung while gawking at the cliff and the houses and all! <g>

'From Wealth to Power' - By Fareed Zakaria

JPR:
Speaking of holy books..I meant Bible and Koran I just picked up Fareed Zakaria's 'From Wealth to Power'-The Unusual Origins of America's World Role- the other day. Haven't started reading it yet since I am still 'struggling' with another one called 'Searching for the Cradle of Civilization' or something, still got a few more pages to go. But anyway back to Fareed...I read a few reviews and went through some pages, it appears that it is quite a work, very academic, I think I am going to like it.If you get a hold of it and read it let me know what you think about it.

Now they have the saffron-langots dressing up hollywood stars.

Indian designer to dress up Kidman
India's desi fashion designers seem to have caught the foreign film makers' fancy. A Mumbai based fashion designer has been selected to design clothes for Hollywood star Nicole Kidman in her next film.
