Paul, <I wonder if Intel can just "ditch" the i820 (Camino) and slip in the i840 and announce a Victory - Problem Solved>

As I told the RMBS thread, "Not exactly." 820 will be the real volume platform. 840 is a platform that satisfies lower volume markets, the "niches" if you may. (Although in today's PC market, every product satisfies some niche or other.)
