Sorry guys. I'm about to ramble.

Just watched a show on William Mosely ($$##@@). He killed a woman while 38 witnesses watched in the early seventies. No-one called the police. No-one offered intervention or rescue.

The show was a study in group think and individual responsibility.

These witnesses, who didn't act, were held in disbelief, and blamed for there lack of action by all who read the reports. Any average person would surely have interveined but none did. Listening to the show I'm sure I would have tried to help. But that said, most of the people who know me think I'm nuts. I count myself lucky never to have been tested in such a way.

When an individual is faced with the obvious (which is terrifying) and they have the luxury to not be alone, they look around and leave it to someone else to take action.
No one does. We walk away. Read about it in the paper tomorrow.

This is neither an attack, nor judgement, on anyone. It is an attempt to look into how people act in a group.

The threads I read have been the only voice of caution I have heard in the current market. Where is the person to yell out the window and possibly scare off my assailant?

My fear is we are truly in a mania.

Logic out the window. Feverish emotion and fear guiding our decisions.

Do yourself a favor and don't read "Extaordinary Popular Delusions & the Madness of Crowds."

Follow the majority. If you don't profit you can always find relief in the fact that misery loves company.
