El<<"tell me, how do you feel about Compaq? jajajaja El">> Ok I'll take a moment and answer that. Well, first there is one BIG SH*T that has balls, gut, and an ego. Also so much money a drop of 70% is no big deal. This person cannot handpick a janitor by the results of the last 2 CEOs picked. Second there is absolutely zero leadership. Not in mgmt or leadership of of units sold. Loss of units sold may be a positive as we have seen huge sales relate to huge losses so CPQ would be better off with no sales. Third, IR/PR is non-existant. They can put out BS but nothing company orientated. If it is not a lack of competency in that area it is a lack of anything good to say. It is certain they flunked "Business Relations 101". Also communications from grade scholl through 4th grade or at what ever grade they quit grammer school at age 21. Fourth, millions and millions of shares have been traded in the yeens to low 20s. It will be next to impossible to see those held to higher than mid 20s for many years,, not qtrs. Look where a 50% increase takes you from here,, 27+-,, still in the sewer. Who would keep it that high based on the 3 year history of the POS? That equates to a trading range in the mid to high 20s as a very high for a very long time. Fifth, mgmt has minus zero credability. They lie! It has been stated on the record they would keep shareholders involved,, not just 1 SR but 2,,, outright lies. They were going to increase shareholder value at the 30 range--- laughable lies after a 50% drop from there. Sixth, products and services are being phased out. Customers are happy to hear their equipment is of such low value CPQ will no longer produce it,, only logical for those to go to others and prospective customers to stay away wondering if their purchase would be next on the chopping block. Seventh, although number 2 on performance ratings out of 7 tested ,, number 3 on price. Not much of a bargain there so pricing is not great either-- (on a contract for servers and no DELL was not one of the 7). Eighth, in a mkt that is setting new highs all year CPQ continues to set new lows-- read that as you wish. Ninth, the only way to get an 'exclusive' in a chain is to buy it. What does that do to the margin? Not that RS is a great electronics outlet,,, remember the TANDY? Tenth, there is absolutely no direction. They find a good thing like handhelds but are so close to MSFT they use CE which is a POS compared to the PALM OS with many more applications. Next they will wonder why sales are not great. If it is required to kiss Billy's butt then use both OSs. That is onlt 10 but I said I would onlybtake a minute. If I had said 2 minutes you would see twice as many reasons CPQ qualifies as a POS that will not see its old highs until hell freezes over.Actually 30 in a decade would be a miracle IMO --- all JMO of course and means nothing as if I had a brain I would never have bought this POS or would have been smart enough to bail long ago,,
