CYA- and send Etrade a memo on this matter immediately. I would copy the company that opened the account as well. This could merely be an HR screw-up, they are certainly more common than embezzlement schemes.

Definitely sounds like a scamarama, if I were you I'd to the following immediately:

1. Get all the info you can from e-Trade, and tell them to shut it down.

2. Give all the info to the SEC.

3. Give all the info to the Attorneys General of your home state, and e-Trade's home state.

What concerns me is that you may be legally liable for, among other things, TAXES!!!!! Try convincing the IRS that e-Trade's 1099 with your name and SS# belongs to someone else ~ you will soon know the meaning of pain.
