A lucent takeover of Compaq, blood feud aside, would make about as much sense as the ATT takeover of NCR, if you catch my drift.

Harold -- ROFLMAO <<"at these prices CPQ is in a good position to be taken over..friendly or not.">> LOL!! Who in the world would want such a loser and what do they have to offer but more losses? They tried to swallow more than they could handle,, who would want to take that AND the original part of the losing combo? What CEO would be stupid enough to suggest such a thing and believe he would have a job longer than 3 minutes? What board is comprised of enough mentally challenged members to present to shareholders the following;
"We know you have become acustomed to great appreciation of your stock in this company. To eliminate any possibility of that continuing we are going to aquire CPQ at $15 a share based on our bloated stock price. The immediate effect will be your networth will fall by 35%. Since we expect to never make a profit again your net will continue to fall by a minimum if 15% a year. Please vote to retain this board as you vote to accept this stupid proposal and we may even change our company name to COM-PUKE."
How many stupid people do you think there are in this world?
