I only had to read the first line(HRs) and knowing you are a fan of Jane Fonda's team was all I needed to get your reference. >3 Golden Gloves< thats it?Kaline had that many before he was shaving.Henry Aaron was the most under appreciated ballplayer of all time but not even close to being the fielder Kaline was.Having said that,Kaline couldn't have carried Aaron's bat and Aaron likewise never could make the plays Kaline made.I lived in Detroit all during Kaline's 22 or so years with the Tigers and saw almost every televised and many live games.Only one player was even mentioned as a possible peer of AK and that was Roberto Clemente. He was close.I don't follow baseball anymore but having grown up in Massachusetts my hero was the greatest hitter who ever took a cut.Ted Williams was his name and hitting was his game.
>>All this, despite playing on generally mediocre teams where he had little protection in the lineup...<< How about the Milwaukee Braves and of course The Atlanta Braves with hitters such as Eddie Matthews, Joe Adcock, Del Crandell, Joe Torre, and more?
One last question, how many runners did Aaron throw out at first from right field? If your real nice I'll share with you who had the best arm from right field. No it wasn't AK,although he had a gun, it was a 40's and 50's RF from the New York area.
Cheers
Ed
