Actually, I don't think Clinton is losing it. (I believe like a lot of others that he is a brilliant politician) The author might have and mentions some other evidence in her op-ed piece.

But I do believe he is doing a little advance work on his legacy.

Insincere? This might be his legacy.

In the spirit of discussion and enlightenment I will ignore the inference.

Personally, I think he's just doing it to draw attention to himself and try to sound philosophically profound, even though, as you've said, many a philosopher beat him to it. Nice try, Clinton!
