Gary, it's difficult to discern what is, and what is not, real these days. I'll do some digging with my local contacts and attempt to find out. I recall looking for some dark fiber for Goldman Sachs during the 86-88 time frame to expand their MAN reach, when TCG wouldn't budge on the matter. BEL? They were worse, decrying that they would never sell dark fiber. Now they own a 20% share in the biggest dark fiber seller of them all, MFNX. I met the now-CEO of Millennium Optical, at the time. He was with Western Union back then, and still controlled many of the metropolitan rights of way that MCI picked up for a steal, a short while later. Frank
