See Monday's IBD Page A8 for the reason I am in NITE. "In 1989 there were 52.2 million American equity owners; now there are 78.7 million...... fifty five percent of stock owners didn't conduct a trade in 1998. Fifteen percent made one to two trades. Ten percent made three to five. Nine percent made six to twelve. Only 11% made more than twelve."

I am a pre-baby boomer and am one of those 11%. The article says most baby boomers consider themselves long term buy and hold investors. My guess is that they will do just like I did after retirement which was to become an active trader with a part of those long term funds. If that guess is right we will see volumes jump into the 2 billions per day in the next few years as they begin to retire.

Trading online is also a nice way to stay busy.

NITE has a long way to go as they share in the imvestment/internet revolution that is just beginning.
