If NITE's volume of the last two days (10/21 and 10/22) were taken as the norm, that would translate into a monthly pace of 4,408,834,000 shares. NITE hasn't processed 4,408,834 shares since May, when it did 4,672,652,000 shares, the second highest month of the year, and during the supposed internet trading "bubble."

I want to revisit this post because I think it is significant that NITE is now processing more than 200,000,000 shares a day. (It did 206,000,000 yesterday and 213,000,000 the day before).

I had come to conclude that the "bubble" of the spring was an anomoly, not to be seen again for some time. Well, I know it is only two days, but the fact remains that NITE just processed as many shares on a daily basis as it did during the bubble period. In a sense, the 200,000,000/day figure is now a significant threshold number, for every time we exceed that number we are back to spring 1999 levels.

Clearly, this suggests that volumes can and will grow over time, and that the spring bubble can and will be surpassed in time.
