Rambi meant it didn't live the way it used to- it is dead for her, and right now for me. You are right the former inhabitants are "deposed". It's too bad- most of them were great. Maybe you didn't think they were great, but I've known them for 3+ years and I thought they were great. Things change, feelings is changing- we don't have to like it. 255 posts means nothing. It is the quality not the quantity.

I know how X and Penni feel, Mike. There is a new and hurtful texture to this thread that did not characterize it before. I, too, am thinking of taking a hike, especially after reading the late night/early morning stuff.

Michael,
oops- I may have unbookmarked, but I seem to have a box full of msgs.

I really don't want to be involved in any way with this. There seems nothing to be gained,

I don't believe I have ever said anything bad about any individual here on this thread- or on any other for that matter. It's always been a goal of mine not to take sides, but if it comes to a choice of being around certain people, I will go with those I have known for a long time and with whom I have interests in common; any questions I have or doubts about a behavior I will do in PM and not publicly.
I have been here a very long time and I've seen a lot of people come and go, and lately there has been deterioration in tone, in manners, in thoughtfulness, and in humor on Feelies. This is not a new phenomenon to SI. There are topics that appeal to some and not others. But most people have the good sense and maturity to stop when things begin to get personal or intense. On the contrary, recently, this seemed to be a signal to dig in and take the posting to the next lower level. Did everyone do it? Oh, absolutely, but I believe there are several who did it intentionally, goading and teasing and with deliberate misunderstandings and an enjoyment that was offputting and even creepy. I had it done to me, and it was very weird.

Certainly different threads interest different people, For instance, DAR is small but but extremely closeknit with a group which has been together for a very long time, and is gentle and kind by nature. Until recently, there were a great many of the same people on both DAR and Feelies.

My feeling is that this is no longer true--- that the spirit that once was Feelings has changed. THis is not a question of better or worse. Although I question the motives of the people who came to Feelings so belligerently and with no regard for what has gone before, I do not argue with their right to do so. But I sure don't have to participate.

That is all I was saying with my post---- that the old Feelings is dead. ANd it is. For me.
