OT - I avoid lawsuits like the plague. They only benefit the lawyers.
It's an odd thing. Ask any of the breast-implant plaintiffs. My dad is a doctor, and all medical evidence (including that produced in the first scientific court of its kind) has shown that the claims laid down for breast implant maladies don't coincide with the statistical facts of the case.
However, the courts still found in the plaintiffs' favor. Net result? Lawyers have made over $10 mm in fees while plaintiffs have gotten about $100 each.
Funny how the facts can still point to the lawyers being wrong - and they still get rich.
Time for Tort reform....

rude or anyone.... do you have any knowledge of this event or any opinion of Sikorsky's comment? El COMPAQ Showcase EVENT 10-27

Compaq Computers a day after their October 26, 1999 earnings release will convene a
"forum" to showcase the various technologies and services they offer to their
customers.

By hosting a high-profile event, with top management in tow, it can be interpreted to
mean that their earnings report the day before will be OUTSTANDING.

Just as Michael Dell always seem available to give interviews when Dell announces
strong earnings, but is nowhere in sight when their earnings are poor.

I infer from this that the event being held the day after earnings are to be released, that
it is an opportunity for the new top management to garner "bragging rights" as they
expound upon their business model and strategy going forward.

Clearly, if earnings were to be POOR such an event would only offer angry shareholders
the chance to ambush management with insults of bodily harm.

This news is a reassuring and positive development, and should be viewed as an
"extended" analyst conference as Compaq expands upon their ROSY earnings.

Thanks Rudedog,

So hard to believe that nothing can be done for the benefit of the investors rather than just fatten the attorneys pocket.. I had
heard of another case similar to yours but the person (victim)
only got about $6...(he didn't have the amount you did involved
but was several K loss... (still a joke)

Has anyone thought of small claim court or a personal attorney
meaning one's private attorney... I am not giving up yet :)
