Ron, each of LSI's division is doing about ~$400M/yr in business, if that might give us some kind of a clue. As for market size, I think in excess of 200M wirless phones are being sold per year. Even if split 3 ways between QCOM, Intel and LSI (personally I think Intel won't be that big a competitor and Qcom has no fab, so that gives LSI an excellent chance to get good market share), that $ is huge.

I think the cat got out of the bag first with LSI saying they were going to be shipping something last Q and then Korea saying that they were getting 30% lower pricing from Qcom's competitors a little bit later.

PS I predict that drive-on-a-chip is going going be another huge winner. But worse thing about that business - giving credit to the customers. The dd is due to consolidate by somebody big going away. I hope LSI won't be left holding the bag on those accounts when they go down.

Ron-<where is Shane Forbes when you need him?> I don't know where he is but I sure hope he is doing well. I bought LSI some time ago at 24 and followed it down to 10 and a fraction. K the Investor and others were pummelling the thread and Shane, Jock, and a few others were holding up better than the stock price under considerable pressure. I would like to think that I would have bought quite a bit more at 11 even if Shane hadn't been posting his wisdom, but I honestly doubt that I'd have dredged up the conviction to do that without the knowledge that Shane was imparting to all of us. Thank you Shane Forbes whereever you are. S. I. is a better place with you here, you are missed, and I will sure welcome you back!

Best regards,

Mike
