yea. listened to it twice. Niles is sure down on IBM. The CPQ comments were almost an afterthought, and I didn't read his comment as a prediction, but more that CPQ will be in the pack of HW vendors in not being bullish on 4Q and that the whole sector will be weak. his "bottom fishing" cautions were pretty general as well. He was equally negative about all of the others - except GTW which he saw as having less exposure to Y2K. His comments about DELL seemed even more specifically negative. "DELL has multiple problems from multiple different angles. DELL has done a lot of damage to themselves. I'm actually surprised by that - they are usually pretty smart. I think the stock will go lower. I think they will miss even their new numbers. DELL is a great company but even great companies encounter problems that can damage them." Did not think that DELL could successfully re-position near term and would see continuing problems.

His take on the segment is more negative than mine but in general this is not specific enough to be an indication of his thoughts on earnings, more on what the forward looking prospects are.
