G'day all - t'is an indirect answer to the rhetorical question "Will this stock ever stop rising?"

Well, even the Newtonian law of steady state of motion will sooner or later meet the 3rd law of Thermodynamics <G>, so yes, NT as we know her now will eventually go thru another life cycle, but I think NT has just begun hitting her stride and therefore it won't be "sooner," rather, it will be "later."

Here, I submit exhibit A,

cbs.marketwatch.com

Examine this, COLT is ramping up the Europe network fast and furious in an attempt to beat its competitors to the door. Well, are COLT's competitors a bunch of slackers? Unlikely so. Whether they are empire building relics or they are reformed industrialists mindful of shareholder's rights, they will have to compete with COLT [the young buck <VBG>?] Therefore, there will likely be a ramp up of optical pipes all over the place. At this point, I see NT, LU, and ALA getting most of the 1st contracts, CSCO will try to move in, Siemens and others may get a piece of the action simply b/c Europe is their backyard. Therefore, just Europe alone will keep NT busy for awhile.

best, Bosco

David,

FYI: Nortel Networks' PicoNode platform for GSM article below

BT Cellnet launches new wireless office system

October 22, 1999 - TELECOMWORLDWIRE via NewsEdge Corporation
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BT Cellnet is launching Mobile Extension InSite, a new wireless system that will enable office employees to use their GSM mobile phones within the office at fixed line rates. With the system, calls made in the office using GSM mobile telephones are routed through a GSM radio system which has a local connection to the company's switchboard. The calls are then automatically routed via the cheapest available option, typically a landline or private network. By enabling employees to use a single number for both their mobile telephone and their office extension, the system also improves employee contactability. The new office system is based on Nortel Networks' PicoNode platform, with BT Cellnet offering service management and equipment packaging.

<<TELECOMWORLDWIRE -- 10/22/99>>

Comment: IMO, BT Cellnet is the most advanced user of mobile wireless data in the world today.
