Thanks madDog for those great links.! I have a problem on my computer where I keep loosing things like now it's the C-Media, error midi,unable to start... I also had a invalid activeX/com problem in my registry which I deleted...it referred to a "PCL_auto_file\shell\open not sure what it means nor what I should do...any advice? I tried reinstalling directX6 drivers.. Also in the last 24 hours I have lost my video card/driver(black screen)..fixed that.... The modem doesn't dial properly because it appears the port gets stuck open,it either in use(when it's really not) or it gives a real high pitch squelch and doesn't connect. The power also shut off randomly twice in the past 2 weeks while i was surfing the net. What is going on???Help please. Violetta
