I completely agree with you. CNBC really stinks. I am not a journalist, but I believe that CNBC would rate very lowly as far as journalistic standards.

It appears that anything that can be perceived as sensationalistic "news" is free game. Whatever happen to confirmation of the news?

These people will put up anything to attract attention. It is one thing to report that a stock price is tanking due to a variable factor. A look at CSCO trading pattern shows that, in fact, the stock started to tank at or about the time that CNBC disseminated the rumour.
