Chaz,

I may get a chance to do the San Francisco event. Interesting that 2 of the keynote speakers are:

John Shantz - Vice President Market Development,
Service Provider Line of Business
Cisco Systems

David Douglas - Chief Technology Officer
Network Service Provider Division
Sun Microsystems

Nice to know that Cisco & Sun know how to spell CDMA.

Also great to see Ericsson & Nokia exhibiting even though this is not a major show (Exhibits low key as it is really a seminar).

Thursdays workshop on 3G Optimization Techniques sounds interesting:

"Development and optimization of 3G networks is the focus ... in addition, the group will discuss the efforts to optimize 3G standards through harmonization, with updates from 3GPP and 3GPP2."

Chuck Parrish( Executive Vice President, Phone.com; Vice Chairman, WAP Forum) is on two of the panels & same for John Shantz of Cisco. These should be interesting.

Steve Dennett (Chair of 3GPP2) is on a panel with Mats Blumenberg, VP of Strategic Development for Ericsson. Personally I would have liked to see some one from 3GPP on the regular agenda although sounds like a 3GPP member may be in Workshop 1.
