Wily/PMS/Retire Soon:

Thanks for the information on Drive Image; I'll head out tomorrow for a copy!

Forgive my ignorance in asking the following questions!

1. What do I make an "image" of? I've got Adobe Acrobat, AT&T Mail, IE5, McAfee Virus Scan, Netscape Communicator 4.61 , Real Audio and Winzip on my C: drive and not much else. By the way, my HD is 10.2G and I've got D: and E: partitions as well. Is it only Windows that I make a copy of since these other programs I have are pretty generic in nature and can easily be restored?

2. I realize in reading your posts that I should probably be getting another media to store my vital programs like a CDRW or a Zip Drive or even another HD. Any thoughts on which one I should get? My personal guess would be either a CDRW or a Zip Drive since my first HD (the 10.2G one) is practically empty unless I get something smaller like a 4.3G HD. Maybe a CRDW since blank CDs are now so cheap! By the way, for a CDRW, what do the numbers like 4/4/24 mean. I presume they mean the recording speeds but are bigger numbers better? i.e., I've seen a Sony 4/4/24 IDE for $405CDN and a Plextor W8220 8/2/20 SCSI for $699CDN as well as a Mitsumi 4/2/8 IDE for $229. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for your help! Just trying to sort things out in a totally foreign (to me, that is!!) computer world.

Sue :)
