Dan, your comments about my early morning song reminded me of a friend of mine who decided to have her baby at home with the help of a mid-wife. There were about 5 or 6 close friends that she wanted to be with her and her husband during her labor and birth.

As her pain increased her husband would rub her back or blot the sweat from her brow. The rest of us were sitting around the bed gently singing Psalms and other comforting songs, at her request. When the child was finally born and the mid-wife placed the little boy in his mothers arms, all of us, including her husband and the mid-wife held hands in a circle around the bed, the husband thanked the Lord for his wife and child. And we all sang that song at the end.

It was an experience I'll never forget.

Have a Blessed Day, Colleen
