Yes, do indeed take your kids to McDonald Ob. It is well worth your time. I think on Friday nights they still have "star parties" where many bring small telescopes for everyones viewing pleasure. And of course the new Observatory Scope is I believe the second largest in the world.

While there, go by Ft Davis and tour the old fort, then go "downtown" and eat a burger at the drug store. They are great!!

(I may have talked myself into a little roadtrip !!) :o)

Nancy, You're probably the only person I can think of who can relate to this. When people ask me what do I miss most about California, I tell them "The mountains, good Mexican food and sourdough bread". Florida is flat as a pancake, except in some areas in the far north of the state. And even there, they're just hills.
What they call mountains along the eastern seaboard, I call foothills.

Even non-believers will say they feel close to God in the mountains. But there is some beauty to be seen in Florida. I try to appreciate it, and thank God for it. I like to paint landscapes, and it's hard to find a good view where everything is flat. There are some beautiful horse farms in the rolling hills around Ocala. But that's about 100 miles north.

I went to a Ladies retreat, a few years back, in the Big Bear area in Calif. About 100 of us were singing in the Spirit. It was there that the Holy Spirit first opened my senses to a whole new world.

Our Heavenly Father Blesses us so much more than we could ever imagine on our own! Colleen
