Mika: Good to see you posting here. Usually I have to go the Ericsson (or Nokia) thread to get your views. Here is common ground. Grin.

On G*, the fun part is that within a year we will know what a minimum effective demand is for using the G* system.

Then we will see the growth of demand over time.

I for one find it fascinating to see all the speculation now when we will soon have real world data to put some meat on the bones. That will be when an intelligent discussion based on facts will be most useful.

Until then, speculation is interesting.

Again for someone to argue that G* will fail to find enough people interested in using the G* system in some way - fixed or mobile - seems a bit odd. Among 6 billion people there are not enough potential users - especially for village phones?

Seems like the burden of proof is on those who predict failure, not those who seem more likelihood of sufficient customers.

Best.

Chaz

PS And you certainly know of the progress made over time by Nokia in miniturization. Do you think Ericsson will fail to reduce phone size while increasing practical functionality over time for the GSM/Satellite phone?

PPS I have no doubt that over the next year or so Qualcomm can improve its G* phone to enhance its performance while reducing its size. The entire history of Qualcomm leads to that conclusion.

But in any event, we shall see, no?
