More on Certicom

Its my understanding that the purposes/uses of the ECC algorithm (which is the core CIC product) are related to
authentication/encryption/verification of data primairly where 'size does matter'-- small size that is!

Things like wireless transmissions, e-commerce over the web-- via PC's or set top boxes-- smart cards etc. etc. come to mind. So, yes Paul
Allen's Vulcan Ventures recent investment in the TV set top boxes could be good for CIC if the e-commerce potential of these set top boxes
takes off quickly and CIC/ECC gets the node-- by choice or by Allen association or both.

Almost all here on this thread would agree with you that NASDAQ is critical. All you have to do is look at the IPO for Aether Systems LLC. last
week to know that the size and vibrancy of the US market is key to demonstrating demand for the shares of companies participating in the
emerging wireless revolution.

The problems that CIC have talked about in the past, in this regard, involve the timing due to share price being low (last 2 years-- but coming up),
the need to demonstarte predictable revenue rise( coming nicely now-- though you wonder if this sound business principle matters much any
more-- look at Sycamore on Friday), the need to do a share placement for liquidity (only about 11 million shares right now) and to obtain $'s for
aquisitions-- they have mentioned the possibilty of 2 over the next while-- one in California and one in Europe.

At the AGM there was a specific reference by management to this fall for the possibility of NASDAQ.

Some concerns have been raised (here on this thread) about the dilution brought on by a share issue and the necessity of more company
aquisitions. However, most, I belief feel that the issue of company strength via size (Aether Systems Inc. bought Mobeo recently-- and bought a
lot of immediate revenue potential) is worth the aquisition gamble ( especially if dilution of earnings per share is minimized by buying good existing
earnings).

Of course liquidity could be increased by a share split-- but that doesn't seem to make much sense right now-- as there are only 600-700 of us
shareholders right now and the split would not put the shares quickly into the USA institutional hands where they would create the most 'pop'
potential.

But, bottom line is --I am with you-- lets get on with NASDAQ and capitalize on the Aether example!

Regards and welcome to the thread.
