Jenne, I share many TA talks with Jim Willie... he is a friend of mine for over 15 years, and a trusted fellow investor

agreed on Cisco falling from grace via rumor... have believed them to be one of the most respected yet overpriced stocks for months... they command a PE twice their eps growth rate, but have never disappointed... this could be their first time as Juniper is cutting into their router business and fiber optic channels are entering the game

I might as well share this fact... Jim Willie and I used to work together at Digital for almost a decade... he likes to view the galaxy of currencies, bonds, major stock indexes, and his selected stocks... I dont understand bonds much, and am lost with currencies, but have a deeper understanding of technology in general... at Digital he was the statistical expert, while I was the technology expert... we were a great team until the company's management made huge mistakes

we are both Christians, having attended the same church in the Boston area, but our styles are quite different

when Digital scattered our souls to the four winds, I ended up at a major computer networking firm that has undergone mergers in recent years... now my old CEO Desh and his startup Sycamore has splashed headlines with their wild IPO on Friday

Jim and I share countless hours discussing computerdom, networking, fiber optic developments, and lately he convinced me to enter with a small position in the wireless leader QCOM... a year ago, my work helped me to conclude that the next severe growth arena would be wireless... Jim heard me clearly

when Jim told me about the success he has had with option calls on what he called a tech stock "in perpetual uptrend longterm", I could not resist... now I have small number of shares but intend to move more into theQ as you guys call it... I have done very well with a growing video software game firm named THQI

Jim is a great guy, but the rough edges frequently ruffle people... he was stressed out recently, fed up with work, and so retreated to Vermont... we will talk for sure tonight... I am interested in his thoughts of theQ over the last week

Jim is very sensitive, but I am grateful to him for teaching me some solid TA... he always calls it T&A and laughs with a gutteral voice, since he has a warped mind... on the other hand, I dont engage in confrontations or personal battles... but I have seen far too many smallcap stocks with strong earnings take serious blows and decline 50% (including THQI) when their technicals deteriorated... TA is for real in my humble opinion

I will reply to your friend Vendit this evening about QCOM this week, perhaps after talking to Jim

basically I expect a little run this week but not much higher than 225 if at all... the major averages are seriously damaged

bless you,
Carpenter
