that for desktop connection you need "optional use with a SCSI-2 host adapter that is WinASPI compatible and has an external SCSI connection; external cable required."

Anybody know anything about this type of host adapter or where you get one? I've got SCSI peripherals already but its not clear to me what I need to connect this drive into the daisy chain.

If you already have SCSI peripherals most likely you have most every thing you need to use your CD-RW with your desktop computer. The SCSI-2 standard has been around a long time and just about every general purpose SCSI adapter is SCSI-2 compatible. If you are already using your existing SCSI adapter with Windows98 and more than one SCSI peripheral then it is WinASPI compatible. About the only problem you might run into is if you bought a SCSI peripheral and a SCSI adapter as a bundle. Many time these SCSI adapters bought as part of a bundle are designed to be used with only one type of peripheral and won't work with foreign devices. However, if you already have a general purpose SCSI adapter and external SCSI peripherals all you need is a cable to connect your CD-RW to the end of your existing external SCSI daisy chain. Don't forget to correctly terminate your SCSI cable and set the address of your CD-RW to a unique SCSI address. If you already have a general purpose SCSI adapter and don't have external SCSI peripherals then all you need is a cable to connect your CD-RW to your SCSI adapter. Once again don't forget to correctly terminate your SCSI cable and set the address of CD-RW to a unique SCSI address.
