Thanks for the clarification.

My guess would be that those price drops have more to do with Athlon than with Rambus, especially since the drops apply to the 100MHZ FSB bus chips as well as the 133MHZ bus chips. On the other hand, the $100 Athlon motherboard penalty hasn't seemed to have hurt Athlon sales so far - although sales have been increasing as that penalty has decreased.
