Here's a chance to bring up some figures from the latest issue of Telecom Investor that IMHO is on track.

I've been under the assumption, in general, that we will see more changes to our telecommunications infrastructure in the next ten years, then what has taken place in the last 100 years. I had always heard that the investment in the 100 year old telco/cableco plant had been around the trillion dollar mark.

Well an analyst, Paul Johnson of BancBoston Robertson Stephens, put a figure to what he thinks will be spent in the next ten years. He believe that the market for next generation networking equipment will generate between $500 billion and $1 trillion in vendor revenues. That is why I spend so much time in this sector.<g>
