Or otherwise throwing a little levity into this horribly dismal scene that has been played out over the last 20 months...

I am back in again both at 19 3/4 and 26 7/8, basically as a trader turning into investor again. I's like to think that these incredibly bright, enthusiastic, young geniuses could turn this mammoth enterprise around fairly readily... after all they are playing with several billion of ready cash.

I'm just interested in seeing wheter or not the market has already discounted the mediocore .05 earnings or not and whether the CPQ managment really does deserve these millions of dollars in options...

I can hardly be any more disappointed with CPQ than I am now after watching so intently since Feb 98... my worst case is simply to sell the most reasonable calls I can and bail when it is moderately reasonable.

Andreas... I agree with most of what you say and I, too, was surprised at the guesstimate of triple earnings. I guessed .06 and a close on wed. of 18 3/4. The thought that CPQ will move much by beating the estimates by a penny or two is not in my book. Wall Street is so used to putting a negative spin on anything from CPQ, I don't know why a penny or two would make a difference. What may make a difference is if Capellas comes thru with a blockbuster cc that is perceived as genuine, but even at that, there will be those who continue to talk the company down and stall the stock.
