Correct. You see only the ISLD activity. In fast moving stocks, like at the open of session, big mo-mos, or IPOs, the Nasdaq chart is way too jumpy and clustered with badprints, late prints, which are not printed as "late/outof sequence" etc.

ISLD is much more "what you see is what you (will) get", ie, much more timely. The nasdaq chart for the 1st 10 minutes on SCMR is unusable.

You will find rare "badprints" on ISLD. But note, that are real trades. One day in September, one sold 100 shares yahoo at $25 (he was asking $25).

Also check out the chart for NYSE:MSO on their first day of trading 1 min chart between 10:00 and 11:00 The nasd prints screwed it up same way.

Other ECNs? Maybe, the INCA was interesting because of the block volume. But I'm not aware of other subsets of trading activity. Sometimes I use filtered T/S lists, only showing 5k tickets or bigger.

And another thing is that ISLD charting can also show the pre- and aftermarket activity from 8am to 8pm...
