Richard and Thead...it seems from reading both here and the Yahoo thread, browsing the Intel threads and checking the company web site, that Intel has very carefully gotten all its ducks in a row on this one! The "news" on Coppermine capabilities is already out and it would appear to this untrained eye that the improvement is significant enough to keep the fudsters at bay. Also, the 840 is perceived by all as nothing less than spectacular in channeling that speed into productive useage. When you can get quotes from Micron and Compaq like those we have seen, it really shows that the indusry is starting to think in new ways. Intel will foster this belief and build on it with carefully placed articles, promos and interviews. Rambus gets to go along for the ride....a fair payback for their mistreatment over the 820 fiasco.

I do like the idea of borrowing that Micron quote about the 840 and using it more directly for our purposes.....

"Rambus....fast as hell".
