<<Why would anyone who is intent on killing another person be concerned about the possibility that their victim might posses a gun?>>

I have had a personal experiance defending myself with a firearm, and nobody got shot. But, instead of my story, here is a more verifiable example.

You know the show COPS right. Last week (Thursday I think), on Court TV, they showed the episode from Portland where a white guy was driving home from work, and 3 black gang members jumped out into the street in front of his car. He hit the breaks to keep from running them over, and they proceeded to smash his car with pipes and hammers.

They dragged him out of his car, and began smashing him, yelling "Don't fuck with the Crips!" His 10 year old daughter ran from the car, the few blocks left to his home, where his wife called the police.

The guy got out of the gang members grasp, and ran down the street, a pack of vicious jackles at his heels, trying to crush his skull. He yelled "Help!" to a passing car, where the guy promtly stopped, jumped out, and pointed a gun at the gang members. The decided they didn't want to mess with an armed man, and ran away.

The liberals are always crying "If we can only save ONE child with this new law!" Well, here a concealed firearm saved a man's life. Isn't it time to stop writing more restrictive guns laws then. Or, should we just ban pipes?

What salient point? And why do you like the phrase "salient point" so much, especially when you never make one? Why did you turn my question into something it isn't? Your side of this argument has what it wants. There is gun regulation. Why hasn't it helped? Why are things worse now than before more regulations and background checks? Do you realize how pointless your arguments have been so far? Say SOMETHING, don't just put words on a page.
