How is a rate increase a certainty?

First of all, the averages are down significantly off of their highs. If GreenDork is trying to keep a lid on the markets, he already has.

Second, there has already been chaos in the long bond. Very recently, the yield is up significantly. Do we want 9% mortgage rates?

Last, and most importantly, why would he be raising rates so close to Y2K? If people do make a rush to take money out of banks and the markets out of irrational fears, I would think that they would NOT want to be raising rates at this time.

You need to be a little more coherent. I understand your little TV snippets, but your broad generalizations seem to lack context or something.

If you really know that a rate hike is a certainty in November, you should be working on the Street for millions per year instead of strolling on this board.

Beef Jerky, After questioning several other ICGE longs, no one has every heard anything about an EARLY end to the standard 180 day lockup. Can you please provide the link where you saw the info on the lockup ending at 3 months? Thanks, Susan
