Also includes AGP-4x. - New Pentium III (Coppermine) has Advanced Transfer Cache (ATC), Advanced System Buffering (ASB), and is constructed on a 6-layer 0.18u process. - Slim new FC-PGA (Flip Chip Pin Grid Array) package for Pentium III will phase out Slot 1 by end of 2000. FC-PGA also has somewhat lower power consumption as well as lower EMF interference. - Benchmark results: Expendable Timedemo Cumine 733 w/ 820/RDRAM: 82.4 Athlon 700 w/ PC100: 79.8 3DMark99 MAX Cumine 733: 11233 Athlon 700: 12171 Quake 2 Crusher Cumine 733: 77.6 Athlon 700: 80.6 Quake 3 Cumine 733: 112.2 Athlon 700: 111.5 Graphics Winmark99 Cumine 733: 338 Athlon 700: 311 3D Winbench99 Transform & Lighting Cumine 733: 105.0 Athlon 700: 92.7 Other benchmarks showed Coppermine 733 ahead of Athlon 700. There were only two benchmarks where Athlon scored above Coppermine. - Probably no more new speed grades for 1999 from either Intel or AMD. - The story of the 820 chipset is still "Q4 1999 release."
