15:22 ET Cabletron Systems (CS) 15 3/8 +9/16 (+4%): Networker's shares on the move
amid rumors Cisco Systems (CSCO +3/16) may make a bid for the company. Volume still
relatively light at 1.1 mln shares (less than 1/2 avg. daily turnover), but has picked up
significantly over the past 20 minutes. Intraday range 14 1/8 to 15 7/16.

Analysts say that divesting Spectrum is the first part of a larger plan to
prepare Cabletron for sale. Large phone-equipment makers like Lucent
Technologies (nyse: LU), Siemens AG of Germany and Sweden's
Ericsson AB have been snapping up Cabletron's rivals to expand their
data offerings.

"Patel's biggest challenge is getting the stock up to at least $15 a share,"
so the company can be sold, says Esmeralda Silva, an analyst with
market researcher International Data Corp.

Mm...... CS is at $15 Now.
