I agree. The market and the shareholders deserve more than just any appointment to replace empty slots.

What would excite me more is that Novell is looking to bring in some high power marketing company to work with their internal marketing staff. Bring in a Hollywood or NYC company that can develop a full force campaign for NDS, digitalme and the new Novell. Print ads, TV spots, radio and internet marketing!

I think the market would instantly fall in love with Novell if a big time, big name company were brought in. This would immediately give Novell the boost it needs as well as reassure the market that Novell means business. There's a $1 Billion cash supposedly sitting in Novell's coiffers - let's spend $100 million this fiscal year to promote the company's image.

IMHO - Novell can only carry one badge of honor - it's engineering prowness. For many years Novell has been and can still be considered the leader in networking. If you want a network, call Novell - talk to them. They know this stuff, it's their specialty. In that same vein, Novell should admit (as many many successful companies do) that marketing is something you outsource to the marketing specialists :)

Bring on the "hire guns" and GET THE MESSAGE OUT!
