The year end estimate doesn't foot: Earnings Hist (act):

Q1: .01
Q2: .12
Q3: .03
Q4: .04 (PW own revised Estimate)

Total year end 12/99: .20

They've already made .16 this year, so at this point, they would have to LOSE .01 in Q4 to end the year at .15

Are you sure about those #'s? VVUS has already posted .15 thus far in 1999. A 'decreased' 4Q estimate of .04 would give them .19 on the year.

>>Paine Webber decreased estimate for year ending 12/99 from .18 to .15 and decreased estimate for qtr ending 12/99 from .06 to .04.<<

If true, these numbers disturb me. Nothing in the CC gave any guidance whatsoever to 4Q, other than a vaguely stated intention to break 'even'. With diminished Int'l revenue projected, offset by increased R/D, this is not likely. Also unclear is the disposition of the Italy payment, and the pre-payments for product that now apparently will not be shipped.

Either Charlie O. has enagaged in guesswork, or it would appear that VVUS management has selectively disseminated information to PW they did not share with other shareholders, and have done so in violation of SEC edicts.
