INOW, Inc. strikes strategic partnership agreement with San Diego, California based Internet Express, Inc. to offer Covad(R) serviced DSL packages in 17 major markets;

Monday October 25, 8:37 am Eastern Time
Company Press Release
SAN CARLOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 1999-- Partnership with Internet Express could expand in the future

to include other cooperative cross-selling, promotion and

service programs.

Underscoring its commitment to provide the emerging high bandwidth Internet community with a complete solution that encompasses both access and portal services, ImaginOn, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMON - news) today announced that INOW, Inc. (www.inow.com), its wholly-owned subsidiary, is now offering nationwide high speed DSL Internet access packages in 17 major markets. INOW, Inc., based in San Jose, California, is offering a variety of custom residential and business DSL packages beyond its core Northern California market through a strategic partnership agreement it has struck with San Diego, California based Internet Express, Inc. (www.ixpres.com).

''We are aggressively pursuing a dual Internet strategy,'' ImaginOn Chief Executive Officer David Schwartz said today. ''In the rapidly emerging high bandwidth Internet space, there is an enormous market opportunity for small, customer focused Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to compete successfully in offering highly customized DSL packages coupled with support services that include Web site design, hosting, and e-commerce programs. INOW, through this agreement with Internet Express, can now take better advantage of this opportunity in major markets across the country. And it can do so with the added advantage of being able to offer, as part of its DSL program, free access to ImaginOn's new high bandwidth portal www.ImOn.com.''

ImOn.com forms the second part of the company's Internet strategy and it's being unveiled tomorrow at the 1999 ISPCON Conference in San Jose, California. ImOn.com is the only exclusively high bandwidth Internet portal featuring real-time seamless n-branching interactive TV technology fully integ rated with a Web research engine. ImOn.com provides a wide variety of functions including real-time on-line multimedia searches, interactive television, music videos, video games, interactive video travel planners and video shopping catalogs. The portal, which will be marketed several different ways, also includes traditional features like email, calendar/date books, and customized news channels, among others.

Commenting on the agreement with Internet Express, Inc., INOW founder Abe Matar, who now serves as ImaginOn's Vice President of Marketing, noted that INOW DSL service is immediately available in all markets serviced by Covad Communications, the industry's leading broadband access and services provider of high speed Internet and network access. These markets include Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Further, INOW DSL access is also available in some cities through Northpoint and Rhythms DSL networks. These markets include San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.

''The price, speed and service of individual packages depends on the requirements and capabilities of individual locations,'' Matar explained. ''INOW high speed DSL residential service is available starting at $49.95 per-month, while INOW business DSL service starts at $129.00 per-month -- and all 384kbps and higher speed DSL service packages include free and immediate access to the www.ImOn.com portal, which offers a true and distinct value added incentive to sign up for INOW DSL service over competitive packages. If our agreement with Internet Express succeeds as we believe it will, we can expand our relationship to include other cooperative cross-selling and cross-promotional efforts.''

According to Matar, INOW Internet Services will support its DSL marketing effort with a business and consumer advertising campaign scheduled to break in markets where service is available commencing in January 2000.
