PB, I knew that, but could not resist. As such I give more credence to your side, but you are still too close to the action to stand back and take a realistic look. You love what you do, and it shows in your loyalty and comittment.

The copperminus may be a capable chip. In it's current iteration at the end of an evolutionary path going back many years it has only a short upwards speed path in it's future from the die shrink to .18 and follow on copper implementation?(or will that never come as Intel may do a complete redesign to break the path to the past, as they go copper?).
Right now the 733 is just behind a 733 Athlon(there is no 733 Athlon...just 'overclocked' 700) [via projected graphing to 733] and the Athlon is just at the beginning of it's career. Elmers puffery about the fattest x86 processor ITU.....snickers!! We all read the stuff from Toms and others and we can see the carefully crafted benchmarks that Intel has used to "surge to second place"
What will the Athlon do when 133 Mhz bus is in place?, what about 256K full speed on chip cache?, what about die shrink to .18, what about copper?
If the athlon had 256K full speed and 133Mhz and .18 would go so fast that Intel would seem to be stabding still...and these developments are already in the sings as we speak with AMD. That is why Charles confidante, who sees the bigger picture, is bleak about the near term future....what with RAMBUS=DEADBUS=INTEL-DEAD-IN-WATER-BUS
