What is the keyword - Unique

The type of work needed to design is unusual, almost proprietary as there are not many specialists. To manufacture these optics in bulk and with enough durability to survive outside a lab is also unusual. Lastly the market is big, but not so big that the big telecoms have to have their own design & manufacturing. A near perfect niche.
