atskaggs,
I think it is a brilliant move. We are moving into the holiday season and greeting cards will be in high demand, along with e-commerce. The more exposure we get the more stickiness we create. Excite is a far better site then most people are aware of. This gives them a reason to see for themselves. Also, we are heading into November...traditionally the first of the up months for internets. We are in a sweet spot because of the short interest related to Portland. There will massive covering once it becomes apparent we are FINALLY on a sustained uptick.

Tom

Hi atscags- I don't get too excited about Bluemountain.com greeting cards. Some people (especially the senior citizens) think they are pretty cool. Those tend to be the newbies to the Internet. When I get a card, I usually don't even go to the site to retrieve it. I pray that no one sends me another. I hope that investment of hundreds of millions will pay off. It doesn't get me too thrilled though. How about the rest of you?

Ed

bluemountain charges nothing for the cards, and carries no advertising. e-commerce? what e-commerce?

pro: b-mountain has a lot of traffic from the freeloaders of the world, con: it's still unmonetized traffic from the freeloaders of the world. Obviously excite thinks they are better equiped to monetize these freeloader eyeballs, or perhaps they just want to buy these traffic to stay on the top sites chart and keep their appeal to advertisers.
