Elmer,

Actually those benchmarks are identical to runs on the (I think) FIC board. Either way I know someone who has run spec on a REAL athlon config, using REAL compilers, and at most it differs by .1 from the AMD numbers.

I also know someone who is running spec on a coppermine. Using NORMAL compilers. I can't wait to watch the $hit hit the fan when those numbers come out and everyone see that that huge 'performance' jump is due to compiler work.

I will give intel this. They seem to have good compiler guys.

As for Athlon being in second palce, right now, AMD is shipping more Athlon's than your prescious Intel is shipping coppermines. AMD has more Tier 1 OEMs for their fastest CPU than Intel. You tell me who is in second place.

Actually let me save you the trouble. Intel is in SECOND PLACE. And most SANE people agree.

Further information: Apparently the stock market agrees with my assesment as well..

Steve

jeez Elmer, you are turning into a regular "Fuchi".

BTW, did you notice that Dell decided not to sell the Coppermine 733? Not a typical Intel launch.

Elmer - RE: "Even when AMD uses a trick Motherboard and was caught cheating on one of the tests, 3DMark 99MAX Pro-CPU 3dMarks, THE ONLY TEST WHERE THEY POSTED A BETTER SCORE. Read the benchmarks for yourselves."

Back to your FUD, I see.

"Trick" motherboard? AMD's SPEC scores at spec.org use an available MB. Other tests of the Athlon on available MBs at various websites should verify the other scores AMD got.

Where is MIA-Copppermine???

People trying to buy one from a Pricewatch vendor CAN'T get one!

So much for Intel's SUPERIOR launches.
