OT (printers)

One thing to consider re HP vs Epson, is that the HP print heads, as I understand, are in the cartridge, whereas the Epson print heads are not. This means you can experiment with refills with the HP and it doesnt matter if you screw up the heads, whereas with the Epson I havent read a good thing about ink refills.
In my case this is being wise after the event, as I have an Epson 750, which here in Europe has replaced the 740. I also saw cartridges in the US last week that were for the 750, so I would expect its being sold there.
I'm happy with my 750 apart from 2 things which could be better;
1) gets through cartridges faster than I would like
2) is slower than my old cheap cannon B& W, for plain old B&W print.

Picture quality is good though. Try rec.photo.digital for up to date comments on printers. (I think there might be a news group for printers as well.)

I have an HP printer - R40xi - and I love it. I don't do much photo printing, but with just minimal knowledge and on my first try, I got pretty good looking prints. This printer comes with Adobe PhotoDeluxe, so you can manipulate the image, crop, etc.
