Nah, I just think there is kind of a problem with SI... it leaves me in the lerch a little. On the one hand, I want to use my real name on the stock threads... I actually have made a number of professional contacts on the stock threads and consider it to be highly worthwhile spending time there. Otoh, I'm sitting around all day and I really appreciate the coffee shop threads. People that have my name bookmarked to talk about software have said they don't like the fact that there are all these coffee shop posts they have to wade through, etc. and also I would like to use another handle for the coffee shop. The best solution is to have an SI id for the stock threads and then a go2net ID for the coffee shop, then everything could be separate. But SI doesn't allow that (besides it might be a hassle with the cookie-based new SI version anyway). This multiple ID thing is a real no-no for SI, Anthony, Viper and a whole bunch of people were suspended permanently for doing it (but in this case they were suspended and then set up a second acct - which is a little different, I think if you just innocently created a gnet acct and explained why, they wouldn't suspend you just for that - I'm guessing). BTW on another topic, Anthony (or his nemesis, A@P trader) has claimed that he has the "@Pacific" handle trademarked and if anybody uses that on the internet - anywhere - he will sue them. According to a casual conversation I had with some Cisco law people a few weeks ago, internet content thus far is not considered "published material" and therefore, handles etc. are not trademarkable... I guess this whole area is really fluid and there is a likelihood cases like this might wind up in the Supreme Court, therefore frivolous internet suits are popping up all over the place - probably half are initiated by Anthony!
