Compaq and Micron Technology Announce Strategic Alliance for Memory Supply Five-Year, Multi-Billion-Dollar Agreement Assures Enhanced Memory Supplies For Compaq PC Customers HOUSTON, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ - news) and Micron Technology, Inc. (NYSE: MU - news) today announced a strategic five-year supply alliance under which Micron will become Compaq's single largest memory provider, supplying nearly a majority of the company's worldwide requirements. The agreement will ensure significantly enhanced memory supplies, enabling Compaq to meet growing customer demand. Also, Compaq today stated its intention to maintain memory content across its PC product line.
