Actually, it is completely accurate for most of LU's business units - e.g. CO switching, wireless, optical, PBX. Equipment is billed after installation and acceptance testing. It is by far the most conservative policy in the industry. (Data com, semiconductors, cable/fiber do bill on shipment) This gives LU extraordinary visibility into future quarters - essentially it schedules the customer acceptance process, and in doing so, schedules revenue recognition as well. This is not well understood by wall street.

Gary, I am just getting through last weeks posts. I mentioned at the beginning of the summer that LU had won the embratrel network. NN had just printed a similar win which was not substantial or a reprint of an older contract. Later on we discussed LU's strategy in buying companies to service deals down there as a prerequisite by the Brazilian government for garnering a higher share of available business. I do believe that this deal was not announced until now in part due to deployment and in part due to contract completion. Brian
