Compaq Unveils New PC Products

HOUSTON -- Compaq Computer Corp. (CPQ) introduced several new computer products, including a wireless network for offices, and new workstation and notebook computer models.

Retail pricing information was not available.

In a press release Monday, Compaq said its new WL series is a wireless local area network, which includes services to deploy and manage the network.

Compaq said its Professional Workstation AP550 and SP750 contain Intel Processors, RAMBUS memory and graphics capabilities.

Compaq introduced the Armada E500 and V300 notebook computers, which include Intel Corp.'s (INTL) Mobile Pentium III processors. The Armada M700 also includes the Mobile Pentium II processor.

New Deskpro EN and Deskpro EP series, which contain Intel Corp.'s (INTC) Pentium III processor at 700 megahertz, are designed to "bridge the gap" between desktops and workstations.

The Prosignia Desktop 330 has processors speeds of up to 700 MHz, and comes with either Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT) Windows 98 or Windows NT.

Compaq also introduced its PC Lifestyle Solutions software, for managing information technology.
